His record reflects a consistent commitment to strengthening the institutions that residents depend on every day—from public safety and healthcare to education and workforce development.
Throughout the years, Benjamin has served as President of the Harrisonville Area Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Cass Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees, a two-term member of the Cass County Emergency Services Board, and as a member of the Metropolitan Community College Board of Trustees. Each role provided a different opportunity to help shape the future of the community he has called home for generations.
His service on the Emergency Services Board helped oversee administration of Cass County's 911 sales tax and contributed to the development of a unified emergency dispatch system designed to improve response times for residents.
Benjamin also served on the county-elected Board of Trustees for Cass Regional Medical Center during a period when many rural hospitals across the country were facing closures. During that time, Cass Regional continued to expand services, strengthen access to healthcare, and remain an important resource for families throughout the region.
In 2022, Benjamin became the first Cass Countian elected to the Metropolitan Community College Board of Trustees in the institution's 110-year history.
